Medium Bolga Basket | Ghana

Woven by artisans in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana, this medium storage basket is made entirely from elephant grass — a sustainable, fast-growing natural fibre at the centre of Bolgatanga's basket-weaving tradition.

Its wide, open form and sturdy structure make it hardworking around the home. Use it to corral blankets and cushions in the living room, store logs beside the fireplace, organise children's toys in a playroom, or keep rolled towels in a bathroom.

The braided leather handles, hand-stitched in contrasting tones, add a refined artisanal finish.

What makes this basket special

• Handwoven in Ghana — made from natural elephant grass by Bolga artisans in Bolgatanga
• Braided leather handles — comfortable to carry
• Naturally sturdy — holds its shape with or without contents
• Versatile storage — logs, throws, toys, laundry, plants and more
• Fair trade — made using traditional, low-impact techniques supporting Ghanaian artisans
• Unique by nature — slight variations in weave and tone are a mark of its handmade origin
