Rwanda African Basket

This Rwandan African Basket meticulously woven using traditional techniques passed down through generations is made from sisal, dyed and coiled around sweet grass fiber to create the designs and pattern. To secure the coils, artisans stitch them together using a needle or another thin fiber. This stitching ensures the bowl’s stability. The artisans shape the bowl by adjusting the tension and curvature of the coils. They may create flared edges or a more cylindrical form, depending on the design. •  When not in use, store the bowl in a cool, dry place. Avoid damp or humid environments, as they can affect the natural fibers.
